Our Purpose
The mission of SchuylkillPA.com is to provide local information to people in, around, or visiting Schuylkill County. Within Schuylkill County, there isn’t an effective website that highlights our local businesses, Schuylkill County’s tourism, our expansive history, or news and events. We hope to provide that in an effective way for your benefit.
Our Plan
We are developing this site to be as effective and functional as possible. With localized articles and posts you can find the most recent news in your town right here. We can only do that through you. Make sure your business is registered, send out that press release, list the jobs you are hiring for and write for us if you are interested. We maintain, organize and create on this website for free and are only able to garner some income through our advertisement setup.
Our Future
As we grow and improve we will increase the number of locations, feature more and more tourism spots, and of course add all of the local events happening in your area. All of this to put local information right at your fingertips. If we find major success in this, we may just have to create some additional sites for our neighboring counties.
Our Story
I created the Schuylkillpa website because our county is such a fantastic place. From our history to the outdoors and of course our local shops and small-town culture.
I have lived in, and near a variety of Schuylkill towns, from Tamaqua being the first town, I got to know well and spent my New Years watching the high rise ball drop to growing up between Auburn and Orwigsburg or starting a family in Pine Grove and buying my first home in Schuylkill Haven.
Every town I lived in, visited or worked I was amazed. There are so many local hidden gems!
So why don’t people come here for a coal mine tour in Ashland or enjoy all of our outdoor activities? Why are distribution centers the businesses that last here while small shops or restaurants have to do so much work to get people off of 81 and into our towns?
It is because there isn’t anything online telling them. When I was a teen and googled “things to do in Orwigsburg,” I would see pages and pages about Hamburg or Reading and Wyomissing. No wonder my friends wanted to leave the area rather than stay and improve it. When I moved to my apartment in Pine Grove, all I saw in the google search results were things for Hershey.
So there’s the problem, what is the solution?
I happen to be an internet marketer, and I know how to do the hard work of getting Schuylkill county to show up when someone is looking for something to do. This website will change Schuylkill county and show everything we have to offer.
It is super cheesy, but it is time for us to wipe off the coal dust and show what a diamond Schuylkill county has become. And it starts with you residents and business owners of Schuylkill county.
In January of 2022, I started this site and took pictures, wrote articles, and recorded things happening locally.
The truth is there are so many local gems that I could never unearth them all in my lifetime. So please send them to me.
Take pictures, write an article, submit your business to our directory for free, add your events, send your press releases. If it is happening in Schuylkill County, we want everyone to know. And that is how our region will grow.
