Taking a hike in Schuylkill County Pennsylvania is one of the easiest things to do. With a plethora of state forests and PA game lands, there is a trail to walk down within 15 minutes of almost every home.

There is a mixture of short hikes or walks you can take in Swatara park, at hawk mountain, or on game lands throughout the county.

If you are looking for a longer hike there are a few larger trails as well as the Appalachian trail to hike on. The best part about hiking on the section of the Appalachian trail is there are multiple camping sites as well as multiple pick-up or drop-off points with all of the roads that crossover the mountain.
